Description

Primarily responsible for setting up and running sound for a variety of events.

Examples of Duties

Directly responsible to the Production Managers.
Help with the installation, focus and maintenance of all sound equipment used for any Park event regardless of location. 
Assist with the safe and correct installation of any additional equipment brought into the Park by scheduled artists or rental companies.
Work all Events thru load-in, rehearsals, performance, and strike as scheduled.
Help maintain all sound equipment, both in use and in storage; assisting with the creation and maintenance or starting, active, and closing inventories.
Assist with the execution of all performance requirements including, but not limited to:  operating the sound board, acting as stagehand, and setting or striking elements used in an event or show.  On occasion when you have no specific assignment for a particular event, you may be assigned another function, e.g. security.
Work with the Production Managers, Technicians and/or the Artist’s representative to meet the individual sound needs of each event.
Assist with the construction, installation, and operation of any sound needs for the Arts Festival, or with any other Arts Festival tasks as assigned.
Work with the City electricians or carpenters for any additional Park or Events needs.
Maintain high safety levels at all times.
Assist with shutdown activities, including end-of-season inventory of materials and supplies on hand and the values of each.
Act as support for the A2 in all capacities..
Assist with the set up and maintenance of the intercom and paging systems, including
the paging system in the Alma Courtyard, as well as the Clear Com headset system.
Check out and fully set up the Phonic Ear systems in both theaters.  Check on a daily basis that everything is in working order for the system.
Work sound for Events as assigned, and do all homework associated with microphone needs and transfers, including wireless mics, if needed.
 
Typical Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college education or related field experience preferred 
• Ability to work independently and self teach from manuals
• Calm and mature demeanor
• Ability to play music and/or have knowledge of music a plus
