Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace

From the author of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace tells the true story of an Irish immigrant who worked as a household maid in the mid-1800s and was later convicted of murder. Although set in another era, it speaks specifically and almost uncannily to today’s audiences. The show addresses issues such as the reception of immigrants, the predatory nature of the powerful, and how others in power conspire to keep their crimes hidden.

WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION
Please read the script BEFORE the auditions. 

At the audition, you will be asked to do a “cold reading” from the script. You do NOT have to memorize any part of the script in advance.

Please bring your performance resume and/or headshot (if you have either/both).

Please bring your calendar with you to the auditions in order to declare any scheduling conflicts between November 3 – January 11.

Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled audition time to complete audition forms.

WHEN ARE THE REHEARSALS?
A schedule of rehearsals will be available at the auditions. Rehearsals for this production start early in order to accommodate some holiday events. Technical rehearsals begin January 12; attendance at all technical rehearsals is mandatory.

WHEN ARE THE PERFORMANCES?
Margaret Atwood’s Alias Grace will play for 12 performances between Thursday, January16 and Sunday, February 2, 2020.

Performances days and times:
> Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
> Sundays at 2:30 p.m.
