Founded 133 years ago and now an anchor arts organization in Akron, Ohio, Tuesday Musical presents concerts by internationally acclaimed musicians as well as education and community engagement programs throughout northeast Ohio.

 

We seek a full-time Director of Artistic Operations and Educational Engagement with proven abilities in artistic operations, development, and educational programming.

This position reports to Tuesday Musical’s Executive Director and works in collaboration with the organization’s Director of Finance and Audience Services, Board of Directors, and committees.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required; master’s degree in arts management or other relevant field preferred.
Proven abilities in artistic operations, development, and educational programming.
Proven technology skills, including experience with Excel and databases. Experience with CRM systems a plus.
Relevant professional experience.
Excellent communication, presentation, marketing, and interpersonal skills.
Strong knowledge of classical music preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Artistic Operations

Work with Executive Director and Artistic Planning Committee to help curate concert season.
Work with guest artists and agents to create and implement artist itineraries, secure lodging, and arrange hospitality and transportation.
With the Executive Director, serve as Tuesday Musical liaison for guest artists, agents, and concert venues.
Assist with production of concert program books, season brochures, and concert marketing materials.
Educational/Community Engagement

With the Executive Director, coordinate education and community engagement programs.
Work with appropriate committee chairs to assist with the Annual Scholarship Competition, Brahms Allegro Jr. Music Club, and Student Voucher Program.
Assist with Members Programs, Decompression Chamber Program, and other community engagement programs.
Build relationships with existing and new community partners.
Development and Other Duties

Oversee Tuesday Musical’s Annual Fund in collaboration with Executive Director and Director of Finance and Audience Services.
Help to engage and steward donors.
Manage donor listings in program books and on-line.
Assist the Executive Director to prepare grant applications and funding proposals for foundations, businesses, and government agencies.
Help to process ticket orders and donations with OvationTix, Tuesday Musical’s new patron management system.
With the Executive Director and marketing consultants, help to promote Tuesday Musical concerts and programs via print/electronic/social media.
Work with Executive Director and Director of Finance and Audience Services to oversee tracking of individual, corporate and foundation gifts.
Attend Tuesday Musical concerts and events, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Assist the Executive Director and Director of Finance and Audience Services as needed.
Compensation:

$37,000 – $40,000 annually, plus a $600/month health-care stipend and other benefits.
