Rubber City Prints Internships: Marketing /Social Media, Administrative/Non-profit, and Print Shop Internship.

Rubber City Prints is a small fine art print shop in Akron, OH with a focus on printmaking education. We are currently seeking part time internships for the 2016 year, Summer and Fall.

Our internships provide a great experience for students with opportunity for school credit and trade for hours in our print shop. All internships vary in time frame, depending upon experience and availability, and last between 3- 9 months.

We have several events in the works for next year, including but not limited to; new workshops for the Akron Community, a Dog Days of Summer fundraiser, and our 1st Miniature Print Exhibition. These are huge opportunities to be creative, event plan and learn valuable marketing skills. There are several internships available and you must be working towards or be a current graduate of a bachelors program to apply. Please be advised that all of our internships are unpaid volunteer internships with opportunity for credit, trade for print shop hours, and Key Holder service. All of our interns will work one-on-one with a volunteer staff, director or instructor during the internship. All others interested may apply as a volunteer.

 

DEADLINES TO APPLY

August 15th for Fall Semester

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have attained or currently working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas:

Printmaking, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications, Arts Administration, Grant Writing, Non-profit/business; related degrees please apply.

Interns must be well-organized, friendly, prompt to work, and communicate with RCP associates on a regular basis. All applicants must have weekday and/or weekend availability with a minimum of 6 hours per week. All interns must work for two weeks before receiving a Key to Summit Art Space and Rubber City Prints.

Preferred experience in any of the following:

Computer Literacy MAC/PC experience in all of the following Photoshop, PowerPoint, In Design,

Microsoft Office, Social Media Websites, Mail Chimp. etc.

 

INTERNSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

Print Shop Internship

Monitoring Open Studios

Assisting on Demos, Workshops, and Vendor Stands

Preparing materials for workshops and taking inventory of supplies

Gain experience assisting on special projects and print shop commissions

Work one-on-one with artists & opportunities to teach workshops

 

Marketing/Social Media

Creating Advertisements, Email Blasts, Event Postings, Online Storefront, Blog Posts.

Educational development for the community during events such as Art Walk, Vendor Stands and special events

Expand outreach on free posting sites, social media outlets and promotional marketing tools

Keeping up to date on services, website and information displays

 

Administrative/Non-profit

Keep track of fine art print sales, service sales, via spreadsheet/Google docs

Assisting in setting up and coordinating all events at RCP

Make phone calls, scheduling, event planning, etc

Assisting on budgeting, grant writing research, and non-profit committees

Assisting on writing for blog, grants, business letters, promotional networking invitations
