Join Instagramers at Akron Art Museum, the Detroit Institute of Arts, Pérez Art Museum Miami, and Philadelphia Museum of Art on Friday, June 3 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm for the first ever National Inside|Out Instameet.

In Akron, we’ll gather at the installation of Chuck Close’s Linda, at Dunkin Donuts (1712 W. Market St., Akron, 44313) and visit 8 of the 10 Inside|Out installations in Wallhaven, stopping to get an amazing photo or two at each. Post your best photo to Instagram with #InsideOutUSA, #InsideOutAkron and @akronartmuseum for a chance to win an 18 x 24 in. Inside|Out poster featuring the neighborhood of your choosing.

At 6 p.m. on Friday, June 3, the Akron Art Museum, Detroit Institute of Arts, Philadelphia Museum of Art and Pérez Art Museum Miami will simultaneously host public Instagram meet-ups that encourage audiences to come together and photograph the Inside|Out project in their community.

The event will kick off a ten day-long #InsideOutUSA photo contest, from June 3 – 12.

Enter to win in Akron by posting a photo of an Inside|Out work near you on Instagram and tagging
@AkronArtMuseum and #InsideOutUSA and #InsideOutAkron. Any Akron Inside|Out installation can be the subject or backdrop of your entry. Inside|Out is currently installed in Barberton, Firestone Park, Kenmore, and NW Akron & Wallhaven. Click here for a list of all 40 installations.

The winning photo will be selected based on beauty and creativity by Akron Art Museum collection artist Angelo Merendino*. For inspiration and examples of other Inside|Out photos, visit insideoutusa.org, or search #InsideOutAkron on Instagram.

Contest Starts Friday, June 3, 2016 at 6 p.m. (EST)
The photo contest kicks off with an Instagram meet-up in Wallhaven at Dunkin’ Donuts (where the Inside|Out reproduction of Chuck Close’s Linda is installed — 1712 W. Market St., Akron 44313). Meet staff from the Akron Art Museum between 6 and 8 pm to pick up a map of the installations in Wallhaven.

Explore the Inside|Out works with us, snap a photo or two, and then join us and socialize atLarry’s Main Entrance for happy hour, drinks specials and some tasty appetizers.

The winner will be announced on Thursday, June 16 on the Akron Art Museum website, as well on the museum’s Twitter, Facebook, and, of course, Instagram accounts.
