The Akron Symphony Guild’s 19th annual Boat Tour of Portage Lakes Homes

The Akron Symphony Guild’s 19th annual Boat Tour of Portage Lakes Homes

Presented by Akron Symphony Guild at On Tap Grille and Bar Portage Lakes

The Akron Symphony Guild’s 19th annual Boat Tour of Portage Lakes Homes will take place Wednesday, July 20. The annual capacity event ferries 400 guests on a relaxing tour of Portage Lakes via pontoon boats to visit several distinct homes. Boats launch from On Tap Grille and Bar on Turkeyfoot Drive. Sailor level guests will enjoy a boxed lunch aboard while cruising.  Commodore and Admiral of the Fleet level guests will experience the ambiance of the historic Frank Raymond Mason Tudor House on Turkeyfoot Lake at a catered luncheon, generously donated by Jim and Julie Pulk of Prime 93.

For the first time, the Lakes Tour will include an optional Happy Hour Wrap-up Party as guests return to On Tap, from 3-5 p.m. The Happy Hour Party is a separate ticket price of $25. Also new this year, musicians and singers from the Akron Symphony’s Orchestra, Youth Orchestra and Chorus will provide entertainment at designated stops.

Homes on the 2016 Lakes Tour offer a wide range of styles. They vary from an opulent 7,800 square foot home on beautifully landscaped lakefront property with a giant outdoor chessboard, complete outdoor kitchen and miniature practice golf course to a completely remodeled home that started its life as a cabin, dates from the 1920s and stands on the only inhabited island on the Portage Lakes.

Lakes Tour tickets are on sale now at the Akron Symphony office. Sailor level tickets are $50; Commodore tickets are $125; and Admiral of the Fleet tickets are $500. A portion of the Admiral ticket price will go toward Youth Symphony Scholarships and will include the Happy Hour After-Party and an additional range of exclusive benefits.

The Akron Symphony Guild’s Lakes Tour raises funds for the Akron Symphony Orchestra, Youth Orchestra and Symphony Chorus. More information about the tour or tickets may be obtained by calling 330-535-8131, or online at www.akronsymphony.org.
