Downtown@Dusk: Angie Haze Project

Downtown@Dusk: Angie Haze Project

Presented by Akron Art Museum at Akron Art Museum

The sounds of summer—festive fireworks exploding in the sky, the sounds of the ice cream truck circulating the neighborhood and the infectious rhythm of your favorite local band emanating from the Akron Art Museum’s Bud and Susie Rogers Garden.

This year, the Akron Art Museum and the City of Akron usher in the popular concert series Downtown@Dusk for its 32nd season, offering a showcase of some of the area’s best local acts.

On Thursday, September 1, join us in the Garden for indie, gypsy and folk music with the Angie Haze Project.

About the Bud and Susie Rogers Garden

The Bud and Susie Rogers Garden has been made possible by a lead gift from Rick and Alita Rogers, and will be named in honor of Rick Rogers’ parents, longtime community volunteers and museum supporters, Bruce “Bud” Rogers and his wife, Suzanne “Susie” Rogers. Alita Rogers currently serves on the board of directors of the Akron Art Museum and is chair of its Governance Committee. Rick Rogers was president of the board when the museum broke ground in 2004 for the celebrated John S. and James L. Knight Building.

After extensive community and museum staff input, Philadelphia-based landscape architecture firm OLIN Partners created a design for the garden that is faithful to the concepts of creative placemaking. The garden incorporates a series of green spaces that will link South High Street to South Broadway along the south side of the art museum. Embodying the art museum’s commitment to civic engagement and economic development, the garden welcomes a range of activities, including exploration, expression, social interactions and meaningful art experiences.
