Dave Hammer has been passionate about music since his first piano lesson at the age of 6. Although Dave’s main influence comes from blues and jazz, he also enjoys various other styles including funk, reggae, rhythm and blues, and several different genres of progressive and alternative rock.

He has been writing and recording his own music fiercely for the past 8 years most of which has been arranged for three piece rhythm section.

He studied under Bob Fraser at the University of Akron where he has recently graduated with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Jazz Studies.

He currently lives in Akron plays guitar and sings for the lively funk authority of northeast Ohio “Get On Up”.

He is one of the principles of Dave Hammer Power Supply with whom he has recorded 3 albums and is presently working on a fourth.

Dave continues to write and record his own original material in collaboration with many different professional musicians from the area.
