The Subject of Parafiction — Practices of Hoax and Deception in Contemporary Art

Carrie Lambert-Beatty is an art historian at Harvard University. She is the author of Being Watched: Yvonne Rainer and the 1960s, and the essay “Make-Believe: Parafiction and Plausibility” in October magazine.

The free lecture is part of The University of Akron’s Catherine H. Campbell Memorial Art History Lecture Series, which brings prominent art historians to Akron each year for public lectures and to work closely with UA art students.
