David Beach of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History Leads Climate Change Discussion

Presented by Hudson Library & Historical Society at Hudson Library and Historical Society

The library’s Great Decisions series continues with a discussion on Climate Change with Adam Beach, director of GreenCityBlueLake Institute, the sustainability Center of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Beach will give a presentation and moderate the discussion.

Beach has been a leading voice for sustainability and the environment in Northeast Ohio for more than 25 years. He has been a founder of numerous organizations and projects, including EcoCity Cleveland, the Greater Ohio Policy Center, the City of Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability, and the Cleveland EcoVillage. His writing and activism have helped to shape major civic issues, such as regional land use planning, watershed planning, transportation priorities, and planning to address climate change. Recently, he coordinated the PNC SmartHome exhibit at The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, the first building in Ohio to meet the Passive House standard for energy performance.

Great Decisions, the largest discussion group on foreign affairs in the United States, is free and open to anyone interested in discussing foreign policies. The group will meet on the third Wednesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. (the group will not meet December). Participants will meet, watch a 30-minute documentary from the Great Decisions in Foreign Policy PBS television series and discuss. Expert moderators from area universities and organizations will lead the conversation. Copies of the briefing books, which contain short essays about each topic, are available for participants to check out from the library.
