he Singers Companye Ensemble returns to the St. Sebastian Artist Series with Akron’s first performance of Triptych, a cantata for String Orchestra and Chorus by Tarik O’Regan. Based on texts by William Penn, Muhammed Rajab-Al-Bayoumi, William Blake, John Milton, Masnavi I Ma’navi, William Wordsworth and Thomas Hardy, this remarkable work leaves us with words from the 1918 signing of the Armistice (WWI) in which Hardy says, “Calm fell, From heaven distilled a clemency; There was peace on earth, and silence in the sky.” This is our hope for the future.
Singers Companye is proudly supporting the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. As part of the Food & Fund Drive, we will discount your ticket price by $5 for supporting this cause.
