Charles Beneke, Artist & FRESH Juror
Beneke is professor of Art at The University of Akron Mary Schiller Myers School of Art and associate dean of the Graduate School. He is an internationally-known artist.
Priscilla Roggenkamp, 1st Place Artist
Priscilla Roggenkamp of Alliance took first place with her piercing interpretation of war and displacement with the piece “Refugee,” fabricated of cotton, rafts, keys, tote bags and rope. She is an associate professor of Art at Ashland University.
Don Parsisson, photographer
Don just opened foto, a tiny gallery of photography, on the third floor of Summit Artspace. He has published several photography books.
Jasmine Kornel, 3rd Place Artist
Jasmine Kornel of Cuyahoga Falls was the third place winner for her fiber art work, “Bandage,” described as a waterfall of weaving excellence.
Erica Bishop, FRESH Air Award
The FRESH Air Award went to Erica Bishop of Seven Hills, Ohio, for two works, “River” and “Pond,” both archival pigment prints. The prints remind the viewer of the fragility and beauty of an environment in peril. Bishop will also join the artist panel discussion.
Jeanne Grossetti, Exhibitions Manager
Jeanne Grossetti is an artist and now manages gallery space at Summit Artspace in Akron and Nine Muses Art Gallery and the Art Center on Tuscarawas, both in Barberton and both operated by Summit Artspace.
