Printed Stories: Zine Edition

Printed Stories: Zine Edition

Presented by Rubber City Prints, Inc. at Rubber City Prints, Inc.

A zine is a small, noncommercial, self-published booklet or magazine usually created by one person or a few individuals. Zines are most commonly reproduced via photocopier.Zines come in all shapes, sizes, topics, and formats. They can include personal writing, opinions, poetry, fiction, craft or DIY advice, articles about music or movies, comics, reviews – anything at all, really!! Zines are sold, traded, given as gifts, kept in libraries or sometimes hidden in secret spots waiting to be found and read.

Elly Dallas is an artist, printmaker, zinester, storyteller, and sharer of ideas. She grew up in NE Ohio where she graduated from Kent State with a BFA in printmaking, and now attends the University of Akron where she is studying to become a future educator. Her zines may be found in zine distros across the country, on Etsy, or packaged up neatly being sent to penpals. Her work is personal as she documents her experiences as a young woman, with hopes that others will be inspired to share their stories too.
