As a recent recipient of a John S. and James L. Knight Arts Challenge grant, Akron Art Prize will be transformed into the High Arts Festival in 2017 and will add music and film categories in addition to visual art.  Participating venues are Summit Artspace, The Nightlight, Jilly’s Music Room, Uncorked and Musica.

The High Arts Festival will elevate the artistic excellence of the arts community through peer-to-peer assessment, connect new audiences to local art and individual artists, and increase the awareness of the vibrant artistic hub that exists in Downtown Akron.

The High Arts Festival app will be available from the Google Play Store/iTunes Store in September. Through the app, you can register to vote, explore all of the entries and vote on your favorite art, music and film throughout the event.

The event continues to be sponsored by the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation and coordinated by Downtown Akron Partnership.
