Alternate Approaches: Featuring Seventeen Visual Artists from Akron Art Prize 2016

Presented by Peg's Foundation at Peg's Gallery

Seventeen visual artists will be represented at Peg’s Gallery in Hudson from Wednesday, June 14 – August 21, 2017 at the Margaret Clark Morgan Foundation.

Curated by Courtney Cable, coordinator of *Akron Art Prize 2014-2016, this show features a range of visual artists, whose work exhibited fine craftsmanship skills in diverse media and alternate approaches to making.

Artists include: Patty Altier, Elizabeth Bennett, Mary Clark, Sarah Costic, Savanna-Nicole Daily, Dale Dong, Melissa Hughes, Linda Hutchinson, Jasmine Kornel, Susan Mencini, Matt Miller, Kit Palencar, Brian Parsons, Nicklaus Pfeil, Isin Sezer, Paula Singleton, and Bryan Votaw.

A Meet-the-Artist Reception will take place Wednesday, June 14 from 4-6 pm, with artist talks beginning at 5 pm.

*As a recipient of a Knight Arts Challenge grant, Akron Art Prize is being expanded into The High Arts Festival, a 23-day festival celebrating local artists of multidisciplinary art forms that runs Sept. 15-Oct. 7.

The event invites visual artists, musicians and filmmakers to showcase their craft among their peers and public in downtown Akron venues. Come help inspire the imagination of the city. Enter at higharts.org through July 10.
