On Saturday, July 22, Don Drumm Studios & Gallery is the place to be for art lovers and car enthusiasts.  Part of a decades-long movement of artists from coast to coast who make their cars into moving art, Greg Phelps of Columbus will display his bedazzled 2009 Nisson Versa as part of a special gallery event.  The vehicle is covered inside and out with plastic toys, wine corks, tennis balls, skulls, Barbie doll legs, fringe, a chandelier and other objects the driver has collected.

Also part of this freewheeling event is a full-sized car decorated by Sarah Gott’s students at Kids Country Stow and a toy car decorating contest.  The contest is open to the public with $50-$100 gift certificates as prizes.  Details and registration applications are at www.dondrummstudios.com  Akron’s The Square Scullery food truck will be on location to feed the car-loving crowd.  Event hours are 10-5 Saturday, July 22.  Don Drumm Studios & Gallery is located at 437 Crouse St.
