Local Abundance Kitchen, a 501c3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide refugees and immigrants with an empowering and enriching source of income, is pleased to partner with Crown Point Ecology Center a fantastic nonprofit organization in Bath, OH.

Our summer class series will feature ethnic cooking classes offered at Crown Point’s outdoor wood-burning oven and rocket burners. This will be a more casual and hands-on style class, followed by a light meal of the recipes prepared together in class.

Our first class is scheduled for Friday evening, July 21st. It will be taught by Iraqi asylee, Eman, who fled her large farm in Iraq to seek asylum in the United States.

Eman loves to cook and share family recipes. She will make use of the unique setting to prepare seasonal and traditional Iraqi fare. It will also be an opportunity to learn more about her country and their culture.

In addition, we will be sharing how you can become more involved in the local refugee community and how you can make a difference.
