About the American Advertising Awards
The American Advertising Awards is the premier event of the year that honors the best work produced by area creatives.

The American Advertising Awards event is a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). The American Advertising Awards, considered the world’s largest advertising competition, honors creative excellence and cultivates the highest creative standards in the industry. Awards are given in 15 categories, including sales promotion, collateral, direct marketing, interactive and broadcast. The American Advertising Awards competition supports the entire industry;, the AAF and its local and district affiliates use the proceeds to enhance advertising through programs such as public service, internships, advocacy groups, advertising education, and consumer awareness.

About AAF-Akron
The Akron Chapter of The American Advertising Federation (AAF-Akron) was founded as the Advertising Club of Akron in 1945 with the goals of “encouraging excellence in advertising and offering technical guidance to its members.” One of the club’s primary projects was an annual awards show. Named the Penny Awards after J. Penfield Seiberling, – a charter member and founder of the Seiberling Rubber Company, the show honored the best creative work produced by member agencies and advertisers. The Penny Awards became the ADDY® Awards. Today they are known as the American Advertising Awards.

AAF-Akron is a non-profit trade association completely operated by volunteers. Its mission is to bring all disciplines of Greater Akron’s integrated marketing communications community – advertising, media, public relations, sales & marketing and industry suppliers – together to create networks in our community. AAF-Akron achieves this by providing professional education, networking opportunities, industry recognition, scholastic support and legislative awareness.

AAF-Akron won two national Club Achievement Awards for 2010- first place in the Communications category and second place for Club Operations. It’s members have won prestigious national ADDY awards.
