Spotlight Productions presents Rock 'N' Remember Live!

Presented by Akron Civic Theatre at Akron Civic Theatre

Spotlight Productions is bringing ROCK ‘N’ REMEMBER LIVE!  Spotlight Productions has assembled this power-packed 60’s show that features legendary greats, Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, Peaches and Herb, Gary U.S. Bonds, The Happenings and The Reflections.  These groups have over 26 top 20 hits to their credit and have sold singles and albums in the millions.

FELIX CAVALIERE
Felix  began is career as a classically trained pianist in Pelham, NY.  Felix embraced the Hammond Organ and pioneered a fresh Rock and Roll sound.  Upon leaving Syracuse University, Felix became a back-up musician for Joey D. and the Starliters, who knew that his next stop would be the beginning of an illustrious career.  Early in 1965 Felix formed the Young Rascals and became one of the most successful blue-eyed soul groups of the 60’s scoring mega hits including “Good Lovin”, “I’ve Been Lonely Too Long”, “Groovin’”, “A Girl Like You”, “How Can I Be Sure”, “A Beautiful Morning”, “People Gotta Be Free”, as well as a host of others.  Felix says he’s ready to rock the house at the Akron Civic, April 22nd!

PEACHES AND HERB
Peaches and Herb’s career has spanned four decades and established themselves as an international household name with their nearly 60 records that have made the charts including “Reunited”, “Let’s Fall In Love”, “Shake Your Groove Thing”, “Close Your Eyes” and “I Pledge My Love”.

GARY U.S. BONDS
At the age of 19, Gary Anderson recorded his first record, “New Orleans”,  and immediately became Gary U.S. Bonds.  Gary then followed with the #1 legendary party song, “Quarter to Three”.  Over the next three years, Bonds co-wrote and recorded hit after hit that included” School Is Out”, “School Is In”, “Dear Lady Twist”, “Twist, Twist, Senora”,  “Seven Day Weekend”, as well as many others.  He performed throughout the world rising to a status that on one 1963 tour of Europe he headlined above a group of relative newcomers, The Beatles.  Gary still performs today with the same talent and enthusiasm as he did 50 years ago.

THE HAPPENINGS
The Happening’s featuring Bob Miranda, virtually exploded on the national charts in May of 1963 with their release of “See You In September”.  The Happenings continued to chart hits, “Go Away Little Girl”, “I’ve Got Rhythm” and “My Mammy”.
In the years that followed, they would travel and perform throughout the United States, Europe and South America with numerous appearances on Johnny Carson’s Tonite Show, Smothers Brothers Show and the Merv Griffin Show.
The incredible sound of The Happenings is as good today as it was in the 60’s.

THE REFLECTIONS
The Reflections began their singing career at Detroit’s Edsel Ford High School as the Lorados.  The Lorados soon became The Reflections and hit the charts with the Mega hit “Just Like Romeo and Juliet”.  The Reflections continue to tour today with that great sound that took them to the top.
