Online Resources for Genealogy and Local History with Carla Cegielski

The Special Collections Division of the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Summit County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society present “Online Resources for Genealogy and Local History” with Carla Cegielski.

Carla is a frequent speaker at genealogical societies, libraries and conferences. She is a full-time family history researcher specializing in Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia research, and has provided professional research services to attorneys, historians, genealogists, and hobbyists since 2007. She is past president of both of the Great Lakes Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists and the Lake County (Ohio) Genealogical Society.

Small local history and genealogy collections are often unrecognized and underutilized. But in the Buckeye state, many colleges, public libraries and genealogical societies are working together to get these valuable collections online. Learn how to find and access these unique online resources.

11:45 am Treasures of the Internet Archive
The Internet Archive contains audio items, movies, software, texts, and the Wayback Machine. Learn how to access this amazing repository and the genealogical treasures it holds.

The program will take place in Meeting Room 2AB on the High Street Level of Main Library and is free and open to the public. Parking is free in the High-Market Parking Deck.
