On Sunday, April 15, Director/Producer Connie Collins debuts her newest social documentary film Out of the Shadows from her nonprofit film company Rivertell, taking viewers into the experiences of those intimately involved in the adoption process.
Adoption starts with one woman, her baby and a decision. The birthmoms in this film shatter old notions about women and their babies.
Out of the Shadows will debut at the Trailhead Event Space in Akron on April 15. Because of limited venue capacity, the event will be invitation only, but anyone who registers online at rivertell.eventbrite.com can attend the event via free livestream. Virtual attendees will receive the URL 48 hours before the screening, which will begin at 4:15 p.m. The livestream event will feature discussion with the birth-mothers and an adopting couple from the film after the 30-minute screening.
