DESCRIPTION
1-2pm Event attendees who arrive within this hour can explore the Akron Art Museum FREE -complements of GLOBAL THREADS and the Summit County Executive Office’s of Ilene Shapiro
2-3pm Interactive activities and free food tastings (featuring local Nepali/Bhutanese cuisine) in the Lobby
3-5pm Performances and Global Threads Magazine Launch preview in the Auditorium.
The Global Threads Launch celebration will globally launch our new online publication from Akron, Ohio with our international partners from Serbia and our partners from Washington D.C. joining us as we bring the stories from our new Global Threads magazine to life for our community,
The Global Threads Project, as designed by Global Ties Akron and Creative Economy Group Serbia, developed online training for student journalists whose written articles, video interviews, and photos capture the cultural heritage and stories of artists who represent the ethnic communities of Kikinda, Serbia and of Akron, Ohio’s resettled Bhutanese/Nepali refugees.
