ArtsNow: Ohio Arts Council - New Grant Guidelines

Please join ArtsNow and Ohio Arts Council to hear from Brianna Dance speak on update and changes to ARTIE and funding available through the state. This will also be your first opportunity to meet our new Organizational Programs Coordinator for Summit County- Janelle Hallett!

 


Brianna Dance
has helped manage public funding of the arts at the state level since 2011. She joined the Ohio Arts Council staff in 2013 and serves as Organizational Programs Coordinator for the central and southeast region of the state. In her role, she builds awareness of OAC funding opportunities, advises applicants on their grant proposals, recruits panelists and coordinates panel reviews, and adjudicates applications for a few grant programs. Previously, she conducted policy research and guided organizations through the state’s capital funding process at the Ohio Cultural Facilities Commission and served in communications and exhibition roles at the OSU Urban Arts Space in downtown Columbus. Ms. Dance is a 2012 fellow of the Jefferson Center Academy for Leadership and Governance’s Next Generation of Leaders in the Arts program. She studied fine art and philosophy at The Ohio State University, where she was awarded several grants, scholarships, and a university fellowship for her artistic work and research.

Janelle Hallett joined the OAC in August of 2014 as an investment associate. Prior to joining the Ohio Arts Council, Ms. Hallett worked for 8 years at the Ohio Alliance for Arts Education (OAAE) and Ohio Citizens for the Arts (OCA). Ms. Hallett served as the member services coordinator, then the operations director for OAAE and OCA. During her time at OAAE and OCA, Ms. Hallett was responsible for the Student Advocates Program for Arts Day, Membership Development, and fiscal operations. Ms. Hallett served as Programming Committee Chair for the Dick and Jane Project from 2013-2014.

Ms. Hallett is a past fellow of The Jefferson Center’s: Next Generation of Leaders program. In 2008 Ms. Hallett received her master’s degree from The Ohio State University in Arts Administration, Education and Policy. She received her bachelor’s degree in Art History from The Ohio State University.
