CLAY WORKSHOP: GARDEN TOTEMS

For BEGINNER TO ADVANCED

with Beth Lindenberger

Gardens have long been a place to enjoy art. This workshop will focus on hand building creative ceramic objects to stack on a rod that will be a colorful focal point for your garden, throughout the season. Students will learn slab, coil and pinch techniques and explore color and texture while making these finished forms. All materials provided, including clay, steel rod and tools. Led by Beth Lindenberger, this workshop will be fun and informative, an opportunity to learn some clay basics! Work will be fired and picked up at a later date TBA. Class size limited.


Beth Lindenberger Biography

Beth Lindenberger has worked as an artist for over 30 years, making and exhibiting primarily sculptural ceramic forms.  Beth holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Ceramics degree from the University of Akron. In addition to her studio work and teaching Pottery at CVAC (since 1986), Beth has taught Ceramics and 3-Dimensional Design at the University of Akron, and has held adjunct faculty positions at Kent State University (Stark), and Cuyahoga Community College. She has served as the Artist in Residence at several schools.  Beth’s piece “Seedscape: Black and White” was featured in Ohio Craft Museum’s “Best of 2017” exhibition and was featured in a recent edition of Ceramics Monthly magazine. A larger scale public work can be seen at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Education Center in Peninsula.
