To build a unified voice to renew our community.
With focus on the Middlebury and University Park neighborhoods in Akron.
We do this by…
- Engaging neighborhood organizations, block clubs, faith communities, social service agencies, and businesses
- Building relationships and community
- Identifying, strengthening and connecting our assets
- Cultivating leaders and
- Advocating for action that attracts investment and ensures a safe, economically vibrant place to live, work and raise a family
Monthly Meeting Dates
- January 1st: NO MEETING, Happy New Year’s Day!
- February 5th: Akron Police Department’s Run, Hide, Fight Training
- March 5th: Neighborhood Walk Audit Training
- April 2nd: Safe Routes to School
- May 7th: Community Gardens/Food System
- June 4th: Community Celebration!
- July 2nd: NO MEETING
- August 6th: Middlebury Night Out Against Crime (location/time TBD)
- September 3rd: TBD Neighborhood Resource Presentation
- October 1st: On The Table Meal and Community Discussion
- November 5th: TBD Neighborhood Resource Presentation
- December 3rd: Community Celebration!
Unless otherwise noted, all Neighborhood Network Monthly Meetings will take place at Family of Faith UMC (800 East Market Street) from 6:00pm – 8:00pm. Dinner will be served at 6:00pm sharp and childcare will be provided by Family of Faith UMC members. Please arrive on time to ensure we can maximize and respect everyone’s time.
