Gallery of Framing and Art’s Local Artist Series welcomes Kent artist Bill Peck!
Bill Peck lives and paints in Kent, Ohio. His work follows two distinct paths, realistic landscape paintings and tightly controlled colored pencil drawings on plaster-like surfaces which are often three-dimensional. For Bill, neither path takes dominance but each contributes to the development of the other. Color, surface variation, illusion and texture keep the work exciting. Bill works in acrylic, oil and colored pencil on Hydrostone.
“It’s a texture thing. . .” says Bill. “Whether it’s actual or an illusion, texture is an exciting part of the art experience… If you want to touch it, you’ll know why it’s important to me.”
A retired art teacher from Parma Senior High School for 32 years, he continues to be involved in art education and art production. Bill is a member of Group Ten Gallery, an artist cooperative in Kent, Ohio, and currently serves as a docent at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Bill’s work has been included in numerous juried exhibitions including Summit Art Space, Kent Downtown Gallery, and Lakeland College.
