Celebrate the coming of spring at WITAN’S 39th annual French Market arts and crafts shopping extravaganza on March 4th and March 5th at our NEW LOCATION at St. George Fellowship Centre. The French Market is a juried arts and crafts show where shoppers will enjoy the distinctive talents of 67 artisans and craftsmen – MORE THAN EVER BEFORE – from Ohio and surrounding states, including returning favorites and new exhibitors. Exhibits will showcase a wide range of unique jewelry, pottery, clothing, outdoor décor, specialty foods, candles and much more. There is something for everyone to enjoy at WITAN’s French Market. The annual French Market benefits WITAN’S Community Project Fund, which provides grants and allocations for numerous non-profit organizations and services. WITAN distributed over $60,000 in 2015 to more than a dozen local agencies. WITAN’s beneficiaries for 2015 included Akron Canton Regional Food Bank, Battered Women’s Shelter Center for Hope and Healing, Boys& Girls Clubs, CORE Furniture Bank, First Glance Student Center, Good Neighbors Food Center, Good Samaritan Hunger Center, H.M. Life Opportunity Services, Lift Up Ministries, Metro Assistance Group, Mobile Meals, Oasis Outreach Opportunity, Open M and The Ark. Since 1943, the Women of WITAN have granted more than $1.2 million to the community through fundraising efforts. In 2002, the members of WITAN incorporated the acronym Women In Touch With Akron’s Needs into its name to help define the purpose of giving organization and its commitment to the community.
