Akron Camera Club - Guest Presenter on Bird Photography

Michael Loderstedt is a Professor of Art in Printmaking/Photography at the School of Art at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. Among his many achievements, his work is contained in various public collections including the Cleveland Museum of Art, Progressive Insurance, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Akron Art Museum, and the Kupferstich-Kabinett in Dresden, Germany.

His presentation will be on revealing tips for better bird photography. Digital camera pre-sets will be discussed in detail, as well as field craft for finding and getting close to birds. Also his practice is applicable to urban bird photographers, it can be applied to most any photographic situation. We’ll also look at the photographs of Jean Luc Mylayne, an internationally recognized photographer who photographs birds.

NOTE:  Please be aware of our inclement weather policy.  If Akron Public Schools are closed the day of our meeting, our evening meeting will also be cancelled. In that case, we will attempt to notify you as soon as possible via the email you have provided us.  

The Akron Camera Club offers its members opportunities for competition, instruction, mentoring, lectures and field trips. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays [with some exceptions] at 7:00pm for presentations on a variety of photographic topics and competitions. Come at 6:30pm for one on one help with questions on camera settings, photo editing, etc. Visitors are always welcome!
