Premiere Film Event of "Disconnected" by Jonathan Chiarle, Akron Soul Train Resident Artist

Presented by Akron Soul Train and Mary Schiller Myers School of Art: The University of Akron at Mary Schiller Myers School of Art

Many find themselves navigating through spaces occupied by people and crowds, yet feeling alone, feeling like an “other”.  Diconnected is a meditation on loneliness and not feeling connected in the modern world, reflected through strangers on a bus.

Jonathan Chiarle was Akron Soul Train’s 2019 LGBTQ artist-in-residence.  As part of his residence he conducted workshops sharing with others the art of filmmaking.  To kick off his premiere event, Jonathan will begin with a short talk on his process and a showing of a collection of previous work, followed by the premiere of Disconnected.  If time allows, there will be a Q&A session.

Filming was made possible by the generous in-kind donation by Metro RTA Serving Summit County.
