The Exploring the World through Stories Festival engages early learners (pre K- 4th grade) in an interactive and engaging experience exploring cultures of the world through their stories.
Once Upon A Time…… the stories of the world come alive in an interactive and multidimensional festival.
The festival celebrates stories of the world, and multi-lingual and multicultural storybooks. The celebration includes interactive, hands-on experiences through which students and families can explore world cultures with authentic cultural exhibits, stories and book readings, music, art, dance, storytelling, puppets and world languages.

On Friday, May 13, 6:00-pre-show 7:00pm movie: The community is invited join us in the auditorium of the Main Library for the showing of one of the most popular animated feature films of all time featuring lions, baboons, a meerkat, warthog, and hyenas who join together to teach us all about the circle of life through song and their adventures in Africa! Pre-show will begin at 6pm with interactive African drumming and activities. Movie will begin at 7pm.nOn Saturday, May 14, from 10 am – 3 pm, the community is invited to join us for a full day of festivities including local and regional cultural musicians (Japanese Drums/Steel Drums / Latin Guitar + more), dancers (Irish, Latin American, Indian, Hmong +more), puppeteers, and storytellers on both the stage indoors and the Main Street Amphitheater located next to The Coffee Pot. Interactive stations will feature cultural groups in our community and inspire kids of all ages to try arts, crafts, dancing, and exercise (yoga, tai chi +more). Multicultural stories will be shared throughout the day. Locally handcrafted cultural artisan items will be on display and for sale. Food trucks and carts on Main Street near the stage and The Coffee Pot will be offering international menu items. nnWe encourage you to join us for this family friendly event and inspire your kids to love learning, reading and exploring the cultures of the world.n
