Live from the Living Room: Ohio Shakespeare Festival

Live from the Living Room: Ohio Shakespeare Festival

Presented by ArtsNow and Ohio Shakespeare Festival at Online/Virtual Space

Join ArtsNow for the next performance in our Live from the Living Room series with a spooktacular production of Dracula (By Joe Pine Adapted from the Novel by Bram Stoker) performed by the Ohio Shakespeare Festival!

Johnathan Harker travels to Transylvania on real estate business to meet a polite, yet mysterious, count. Little does he know that this journey will set into motion a horror that he, and his family, have never even dreamed possible. This full-cast reading of the original Ohio Shakespeare Festival script will be performed on Facebook Live, radio-play style.

For 19 years, Ohio Shakespeare Festival has performed professional, accessible, and exciting Shakespeare outdoors at historic Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. In 2016, they added an indoor stage at beautiful Greystone Hall in the heart of Downtown Akron. They bring to life Shakespeare, his contemporaries, modern classics, and classic musicals year-round in Akron, Ohio. Known for exciting and daring live stage combat, acrobatic dancing, rowdy and lively Greenshow (pre-show) performances, and a direct approach to classic language that helps the words become clear and relevant.

Above all, they respect the work of the playwright and do not impose concepts or new themes onto their productions, but instead, serve as the vehicle to tell the author’s story as clearly as possible.

Thank you to the Akron Community Foundation and Knight Foundation for their support of this series!
