Join ArtsNow in conjunction with Akron Children’s Museum for our next installment of Live From the Living Room with ArtSparks! This will be live on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 7 PM – 8 PM.
Founded on the belief that the arts play a vital role in fostering the creativity and self-confidence necessary to become a productive citizen, ArtSparks classrooms encourage children to develop discipline, a standard of excellence, and a belief in themselves that carries over into all aspects of their lives. Through in-school partnerships, residencies, workshops, and public performances, ArtSparks brings joyful dance and music programming to students with exceptionalities and to students who may not have the opportunity to experience the art of dance.
For this class, dancers will be taught the “Uno Dance”. The dancers will participate in a joyous and fast-paced dance class with live music to learn a dance based on the colors and cards of the game Uno. Not only will the participants leave with a fun dance to perform, they will also learn how to play a movement game using an Uno deck with their whole families. Participants should come dressed comfortably and have some space cleared in their homes to move. This will be fun for children of all ages and abilities!
Thank you to Akron Community Foundation and Knight Foundation for making this series possible!
If you can’t be there for the live streaming, you can watch the video later on ArtsNow’s Facebook page.
