Success at reopening! New shows coming up!

It’s great to be back! Tickets are good to visit gallery shows at Summit Artspace on East Market in Akron and Summit Artspace on Tusc in Barberton during public hours. Artists with studios in the buildings will each have their own reopening timelines and guidelines.

Summit Artspace will be following state directives so visitors will need to register for a timed, ticket at Eventbrite.  Links below. Tickets are free. Your ticket is for 1.5 hours but feel free to stay longer and see the amazing local artwork. Thursdays from 12 to 3 p.m. are reserved for vulnerable populations at Summit Artspace on East Market. SHE/HER/HERS JURIED ART EXHIBITION

She/Her/Hers is a juried art exhibition by artists who are women and those identifying as women in the THREE G Gallery at Summit Artspace on East Market. Juried by award-winning artist Linda Hutchinson of Kent, the exhibition commemorates the centennial of the 19th amendment confirming women’s right to vote and the complex advancement women have made toward gender equality. FOUND OBJECTS FIND A HOME IN DISCARDED AND REDISCOVERED

Summit Artspace on Tusc

Juror Gwen Waight See objects in their second lives as art in Discarded and Rediscovered at Summit Artspace on Tusc, 571 W. Tuscarawas Ave., Barberton. The show juried by artist Gwen Waight of Peninsula. For this exhibition, artists are challenged to repurpose, reclaim, and rediscover discarded materials through the production of strong and compelling artwork.

ARTIST STUDIOS WELCOME YOU BACK
With re-entry to Summit Artspace on East Market, you can also check out the artists studios . Artists have been back at their studios for several weeks and many of them have continued to create new works that you’ll be able see and purchase. They will be determining their own reopening schedules and guidelines for spending time in their spaces.
