Akron Children’s Museum's Jonathan Morschl

Presented by West Akron Kiwanis at Northwest Family Recreation Center

Jonathan Morschl, a current Akron Children’s Museum (ACM) board member will speak at the Northwest Akron Family Recreation Center about the fledging museum’s future plans on the evening of March 21. The museum’s original seed money was donated by the Kiwanis Club of West Akron to fund a viability study in 2012. Akron Children’s Museum is creating a dynamic, inspiring place for kids 12 and under to learn through play in environments built especially for them. They demonstrated their value to the community at their Pop-Up Site at Lock 3, presented by PNC. ACM’s Pop-Up Site received overwhelmingly positive reviews, welcoming nearly 10,000 visitors in less than 3 months. Akron Children’s Museum is planning to re-open a larger, year-round location later this year. According to Wikipedia, the United States houses over two hundred children’s museums, including five others in Ohio. Jon has been a designer with Four Points Architectural for over eight years. Jon has been involved with a wide range of project types and project responsibilities while with Four Points. Jon holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Architecture from Kent State University.
