Alit About Bugs

Presented by Peninsula Art Academy at Peninsula Art Academy

Alit:
Amy M. Mothersbaugh has been an artist in the City of Cuyahoga Falls since 1983. She comes from a large family of artists & musicians whom all began their careers while in this City. She currently works out of her Cuyahoga Falls home, as an illustrator, muralist at the Akron Zoological Park, and private art teacher.
Amy started this ‘portable watercolor study series’ while caring for her parents through their ends of life. This collection is comprised of many butterflies, moths, and insects created during those years, and at last tally, she has created over 325 original pieces.

Alit, is a term for when a butterfly or moth, stops only for a moment to refresh, before moving on with faith that another opportunity awaits for them. Amy, like many of us, has bravely been embracing a career path in the art world during the art worlds’ many evolutionary changes. Her body of work is both metamorphosis and celebration of faith for what she feels is to come.
Amy’s Alit bug series first debuted January 12, 2019, at Studio 2091, where Mayor Don Walters presented a proclamation stating January 12 to be Amy Mothersbaugh Day in the city of Cuyahoga Falls.

These pieces are 9″X9″ framed pieces of art, painted with Japanese watercolor on 140lb cold press paper, finished with indelible ink, either micron or Sharpie.

These 75 works are available for you to purchase!
