Wandering Aesthetics - Summer CAMP: Heroes & Villains

Wandering Aesthetics - Summer CAMP: Heroes & Villains

Presented by Wandering Aesthetics at Unknown

“The role of the villain is only determined by who’s telling the story.”

― Penelope Douglas, Nightfall

The highly popular Summer CAMP returns, as Wandering Aesthetics offers another year of theatrical education “down on the farm”.

Join Wandering Aesthetics’ Director of Education Kyle Jozsa and Teaching Artist Matt Dodds as they, alongside the young performers (ages 6-14) explore the wild world of heroes and villains. Using theatrical concepts, including imagination, character creation and teamwork, students will dive into the duality of heroes and villains, (real and imaginary alike), culminating in the development of their very own epic adventure-style performance.

This summer camp is a great way to either introduce students to the concepts of live performance or further develop these skills. Each morning, in his engaging style, Jozsa will use games and exercises to teach students the fundamentals, (Stage picture, blocking, memorization, cues, etc.), along with some more advanced techniques, (Proper use of body & voice, awareness, character creation, etc.). Each afternoon, students will use what they’ve learned to craft a performance based on the world of heroes and villains. The week will culminate in a final performance for friends and family (Utilizing proper social distancing practices).

Students should bring a water bottle & brown bag lunch.

* There will be a final presentation held on the afternoon of Friday, July 2nd.
