Alaska Thompson is an artist located in Canton, Ohio. Her artwork often depicts renditions of both existing, and non-existent, cosmic structures and galactic imagery. Alaska also enjoys working en plein air, painting natural scenery at her favorite hiking locations; she also works sculpturally with metals, and other objects, to construct abstracted forms inspired by the natural world. Alaska has felt inspired by the natural world since childhood, and her work has reflected that as an underlying theme throughout her career.

After her first art exhibition in January 2018 she received an invitation from NASA to attend a NASA Social event at the Space Flight Center in Huntsville Alabama. At this event she realized the depth of camaraderie that exploring the cosmos brings to humanity, and how saving our own planet is intertwined with space travel.

Eternity Where is an exhibition set to explore the cosmos from a painterly perspective; this collection of work emphasizes the beauty of space, yet alludes to the connection we all share with these amorphous forms.
While some pieces border abstraction, other works more accurately depict different nebulae and star formations which exist in the known universe.
