About the Artists
Emotional Creatures by James Edwards
James Edwards is a jewelry and metalsmithing major graduating from The University of Akron’s Myers School of Art at the end of the Spring 2022 semester. Originally from Rochester, NY, James plans on starting his own jewelry art business. His work is mainly comprised of cast metal objects, from pendants working with organic forms to larger sculptural works of mystical creatures representing inner emotions and states of mind. In his show, Emotional Creatures, he tackles topics of anxiety, depression, and inner demons by manifesting them into physical forms to show what those states of mind look like.

Illuminance by Vee Morman
Vee Morman is a ceramic artist who works by hand and with the potter’s wheel. They create work intended for décor using mixed mediums and ceramics. Their current body of work is inspired by the thought of sex and gender and how that can be perceived and translated through shapes.

The Feminine Image by Gabrielle Zink
Gabrielle Zink is a photographer from Canal Fulton, Ohio. She is currently studying at the University of Akron earning her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Photography. Gabrielle’s work looks into the portrayal of women in today’s media and society. She uses self-portraiture and still photography to create feminine personas based on these portrayals.
