Kella builds fantastical dioramas from paper and natural materials depicting a balance between natural destruction and hope.  Dramatic lighting is added to her fabrications, and they are photographed.  From these come beautiful, haunting photographs depicting slipping mud, exposed tree roots, rotting docks and crumbling stone in a precarious balancing act.

She states, “The photographs also hint at the ephemeral nature of the lake ecosystem and lead one to ponder the realm of loss in the face of pervasive environmental threats, while also offering a moment of reflection and a renewed discovery of the natural world.”
