Next year Hip-Hop culture will be 50 years old. The cable network Showtime is celebrating their \\\”Hip-Hop 50,\\\” a 3-year celebration with original series, films & experiences, leading up to the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop in 2023. \\\”Hip-Hop 50\\\” is a definitive, all-encompassing look at an everlasting movement driven by the most foremost names in the genre. Keepers of the Art Inc (KOTA), a Hip-Hop advocacy organization based in Akron has been manning the front of the cultural preservation movement since 2006. Whether it’s producing Akron’s first all hip-hop radio program, or finding Akron’s first annual Hip-Hop festival, KOTA has put in the work, and firmly believes that “we can continue to fight the battle against negative influences in the world through creation of more socially responsible artistic, educational and entertainment outlets for all human beings.
KOTA haven’t produced a show since February 2020, due to COVID. Their last show was an epic KRS One and the Jungle Brothers performance. We’re definitely excited to be back providing dope shows to the community. However, in the spirit of business excellence and economic freedom in the business of rap music, Hieroglyphics have established their Hieroemperium.com as one of the foremost independent labels in the world. The Hieroglyphics logo is one of the most recognizable ones ever in hip-hop. Crew members Souls of Mischief, Casual, DJ Toure and Domino will bum rush the stage at Music on Saturday September 3, 2022.

EASY FREE DOWNTOWN AKRON PARKING
Parking is a breeze when you’re coming to Musica! Event parking is FREE at the LIBRARY PARKING DECK at 40 S. HIGH STREET, on the corner of Market and High Street. This deck is across the street from the Akron Art Museum and attached to Akronym Brewing. Take the cross-walk at Market Street and you’ll be at Musica! Parking is free on nights and weekends. Please don’t park on the lot on Maiden Lane outside of Musica as those spots are reserved for residents of The Lofts.
