Akron Environmental Justice Townhall

Presented by Akron Environmental Justice Coalition at First Congregational Church of Akron

The Akron Environmental Justice Coalition is hosting a public forum on January 30, 2024, from 6-9 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Akron, located at 292 E. Market St. in Akron. The forum provides an opportunity for citizens to share their ideas and solutions with city leaders, with the goal of creating a sustainable, equitable, and healthy Akron. The forum will cover a variety of topics, including the Innerbelt, Akron Tree Canopy, Urban Farming, Green Space Access, Tax Abatement, Neighborhood Pollution, and other issues that impact the community.

Through this process, Akron citizens will demonstrate their appreciation for the diverse assets within our community through small group circle facilitation. Attendees will have the opportunity to come together, share their concerns, and participate in bringing citizen-led ideas and solutions to life. City officials will also be present to listen to the ideas and concerns of the citizens.

Be a part of creating actionable next steps for a healthy, sustainable, and fair community for all.

The Akron Environmental Justice Coalition comprises The Big Love Network, Sierra Club-Portage Trail Group, Greater Akron Audubon Society, LEAD for Pollinators, Preserve the Valley, and Save White Pond. For more information, please contact LEAD for Pollinators at info@leadforpollinators.org.
