Get the first look at Myopia in Akron as you explore Mothersbaugh’s artwork in the museum’s galleries. Myopia at the Akron Art Museum turns its attention on Mothersbaugh’s visual art practice—he has been making art for more than 40 years—including installations of recent sculpture, prints, rugs, and a collection of 30,000 postcard-sized drawings the artist has created and utilized for inspiration and exploration throughout his career.

Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia will be on view at the Akron Art Museum and MOCA Cleveland in a special shared presentation in Northeast Ohio from May 28 – August 28, 2016.

Myopia Mania is coming to Cleveland! Kick off MOCA’s summer season on Friday, May 27 at 7PM, with a free outdoor party + concert featuring Mark Mothersbaugh in person to celebrate the opening of two exhibitions with Ohio roots: Mark Mothersbaugh’s Myopia and Richard Myers’ Aberrations. Mark Mothersbaugh will direct a performance of his wildly-original 6-sided keyboard outside on Toby’s Plaza adjacent to MOCA. Mark will also DJ, and a band will perform his songs from DEVO through Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday. More information on the opening here.
