On May 21,  King Arthur and his knights want to give you a taste of their upcoming performance at Weathervane Playhouse as well as a taste of delicious food from The Rail and The City Square Steakhouse.   Join the cast and designers of Weathervane’s production of Monty Python’s Spamalot for a “taste” of what the show has to offer as well as special food offerings that will include Spamalot themes such as a Grilled Vegetable Tray: with “Shrubbery” (Broccoli Florets), Spam-A-Lot:  Seared Teriyaki Glazed Spam with Charred Pineapple served on a Wafer, Herbed Brined Baked Chicken Drumsticks with Assorted Sauces, and a Mac & “Cleese.”

The event offers an open house format with chances to get a backstage sneak peek at the set, costumes, design elements, and cast of Monty Python’s Spamalot.  Attendees can try their hand at a dance number from the show and see a special rehearsal in progress.  Also available are a talkback with cast members and designers on the process of staging this hilarious musical.  Beverage service, mingling, tours and backstage experiences begin at 3:30 p.m. with food service by the Rail and The City Square Steakhouse from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  All proceeds from the event will benefit the general operating fund of Weathervane Playhouse.  To purchase tickets go to http://tiny.cc/KnightAtWVP or call the box office at 330 836-2626.

All food provided by The Rail and The City Square Steakhouse is sure to satisfy your appetite.  A cash bar with beer and wine tastings will be provided as well as full pours.  Additional support provided by Acme Fresh Market. There will be raffle prizes of tickets to see Spamalot and to Weathervane’s 2016-2017 season of shows.

Spamalot re-tells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table and is lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail.  The outrageously hilarious musical comedy, features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.

The 2005 Broadway production won three Tony Awards, including “Best Musical,” and received 14 Tony Award nominations.
