The Akron Yoga Summit seeks to put Akron and the surrounding area on the map as a conscious community actively contributing to world peace. The gathering is a four day festival- as part of the Akron Peace Project’s 7th Annual Peace Week- that unites and highlights Yoga leaders for a weekend of empowerment, leadership development, ahimsa (non-violence), friendship, and service. As students of Yoga, we gather together to encourage one another, through creative experiences which educate and inspire, to embody the path of Yoga in everyday life and dive deeper into our own spirituality.

The Akron Yoga Summit will offer a beautiful variety of Yoga & Meditation classes and workshops from teachers & leaders from the Greater Akron area. In addition, we have created an entire day which is dedicated to those who feel they cannot practice yoga, including toddlers, expectant parents, those with anxiety & depression, the deaf community, folks in addiction recovery, Christian yogi’s, individuals with physical & mental disabilities, seniors, and folks with limited mobility!

In short, we wish to teach, or simply remind, our community that yoga is for every-body! No matter your physical limitations, gender, ethnicity, sexual preference or religious beliefs- there is a way for us all to benefit from this practice.

Classes and workshops include asana practices, lectures, meditations, kirtan, stories, art, and anything else that we are called to utilize in order to explore the path of Yoga!
