Travis Hreno, John Chaplin, Cameron Parris, Chris Parsons, and Colin Dees play straight-ahead instrumental jazz, drawing on funky hard bop, cool, and the blues.

Travis and John have been practicing their jazz chops together for awhile now. After Cam joined, they’ve decided to share their music with the public. Now, Chris is playing bass and Colin has joined on percussion.

John Chaplin studied jazz improvisation with Steve Brown at Ithaca College. Since then, he has played with a variety of rock and jazz acts. His guiding principle is that reason is, and ought only to be, the slave of the passions.

Monads are a concept from the philosophy of Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz. If you are curious about what they are, here’s a link to Leibniz’s “Monadology”, where he explains all about them: http://www.earlymoderntexts.com/assets/pdfs/leibniz1714b.pdf
