MISSION
One mural at a time, through artistic disruption and community enrichment Art Bomb Brigade will create a model for how creative place-making can help invigorate and inspire post-industrial cities like Akron.

ABOUT
Art Bomb is a local team of artistic and creative revolutionaries armed with paint brushes and spray cans seeks to “muralize” highly trafficked existing businesses/sites in struggling neighborhoods and on the lost streets of our town. Mural bombs executed by a highly successful design team experienced in working with community partners (as they are established) will create large scale imagery that reflects, connects with and enhances the physical landscapes and built environments of Akron’s overlooked neighborhoods. While creating a lasting impression of growth, possibility, imagination, and local pride, the Art Bomb Brigade also brings the added happening of community art making in the midst of each mural bomb.

Art Bomb Brigade is made possible by a Knight Arts Challenge Award from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

“Knight Foundation supports transformational ideas that promote quality journalism, advance media innovation, engage communities and foster the arts. The foundation believes that democracy thrives when people and communities are informed and engaged. For more, visit knightfoundation.org.”
