A new and unique, one-of-a-kind special sporting and cultural event that no other city in the world can claim:  It’s the Akron Portage ‘n Paddle!

Celebrating Akron’s 8-mile, 3-mile and 1-mile expanses of Native American holy ground between the U.S. continent’s two river systems, the Portage ‘n Paddle canoe race is once again being held on May 21st featuring canoes and kayaks in and out of the water racing through Akron’s urban lakes, canals, downtown streets and recreation trails along the Ohio & Erie Canal.
