The Young Black Professionals Coalition is an organization comprised of young black professionals in the Akron, Ohio area with a focus on the personal, professional and social development of oneself and other young professionals, including high school and college students.  The Young Black Professionals Coalition will develop and maintain a yearly scholarship given to graduating high school seniors who meet certain criteria set forth by the scholarship committee.  YBPC plays a major role in the development of young African-American males and females through an extensive mentoring program, workshops, seminars and professional development clinics.  Such workshops/seminars will be geared towards improving communication skills (oral & written), leadership skills, professionalism and networking, amongst other skills.  Related programs will focus on the wellness (spiritual, mental, social, and physical, etc.) of young black professionals in the community.  The focus of YBPC is to encourage the ongoing education of African-Americans, be a positive, active and effective citizen within the community, enhance the personal and professional development of its members and provide a place for young professionals to network with other ambitious black professionals.
