What we’re about

The Death Café is a discussion group about death and its related topics. The goal of the café is to increase awareness of death with the view of helping people make the most of their finite lives. The Death Café meetings are confidential and not-for-profit. Guiding principles are that participants respect one another’s beliefs and avoid trying to change others’ viewpoints. The Death Café is not a bereavement or grief support group or end-of-life planning session.

The Death Cafe’ is an international group (over 2,000 cafes across the world). Topics change for every meeting, as it is always open forum. Come and see what we’re about. It’s a lot of great conversation and will certainly enlighten most. Donations are encouraged to help our membership grow and to help defray costs of the goodies we’ll bring to each meeting. Please R.S.V.P. as best you can with an email or text to let us know you’re coming and how many guests you’ll be bring.  This way, we can make arrangements to facilitate the number in attendance. Usually, we meet the third Friday of the month at Panera, 689 Howe Ave., Akron, Ohio. The day of our meeting, if you have questions about Panera, feel free to call them at 330-928-0112. We will post here when we have a meeting.

Thank you and we hope to see you soon! We also have a Facebook presence, so feel free to glean information and Like us from this page: http://www.facebook.com/DeathCafesAkronChapter
