Archival Services of University Libraries at The University of Akron collects, preserves, and provides access to archival materials such as historic documents, photographs, and films that document the history of The University of Akron and Akron and Summit County, Ohio with a particular focus on the history of the rubber and polymer industry, lighter-than-air flight, and Ohio canals.  The department also houses local government records for nine counties in northeast Ohio in addition to numerous rare books and signed editions.  The archives hosts classes, tours, historical displays and exhibits, and educational events throughout the year.  Archival Services is located in Room LL-10 of the Polsky Building in downtown Akron and is open to students, faculty, staff and the general public Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Appointments are recommended, but not required.
